Steed Lord adds Pop Princess Ciara to their growing list of Divas with their remix of “Got Me Good” from the singer’s self-titled 5th album. Putting a disco spin on the record bringing on a more care free summer vibe to the dance pop club anthem. Check out the mix below Continue reading
Steed Lord released a NuDisco remix of their song “Ghost of Sky” from their 3rd album “The Prophecy Pt.1″. While the original was an instant standout from the record for it’s R&B inspired melody, this remix keeps the 80’s Synth disco flavor that’s more dominant on the album. You can purchase the single via the bands Bandcamp or wait until the 8th for the iTunes release
The youngest member of Steed Lord is known for his for making futuristic dramatic beats that add to the band’s sultry lyrics and vocals, but his style also compliments that of the bands Angelic Icelandic Geisha vocal diva mixing street urchin chic with high end class. His use of accessories always compliments any occasion whether for stage or just to take a sharp picture of himself working in the studio.
You know I always have to show love to my favorite band Steed Lord, and yesterday they released a line of hoodies and tees for fans, for the winter and early spring season, stylish black hoodies with gold beads on the drawstrings and the Steed Lord Logo with Kali and Eddie House modeling the line. You can purchase the new merch along with their 3D broach and Posters at their official store.
2012, we made it past the apocalypse and were greeted with some pretty awesome music. In fact I personally feel like this is one of the better years in music in a while, I narrowed down my favorite albums down to 12 of the best (this was really, really I mean, really tough). But this list is a mixed bag of Hip-Hop, Soul and Pop. Continue reading
Steed Lord is back with their 3rd album ‘The Prophecy Pt.1” consisting of 10 tracks, some of which are the band’s most vulnerable yet. The overall vibe of this album is cinematic, 80’s style. Unlike their last two offerings (Heart II Heart and The Eddie House EP) which featured more Progressive House, Dubstep and Disco this record takes on more of the Synthpop of the 80’s but with a more dark cinematic vibe. Each track for the most part has it’s own moments but are apart of an entire picture which what makes most art great. The album, which was released on the 1st, has been getting constant rotation, but what I did with this album and two others (Captain Murphy’s ‘Duality’ and Solange’s ‘True’) was listen to it in three different states sober in the morning, high in the late evening and sober in the late evening. The effects weren’t much different for this album because frankly it went well with the mood. Although when I was high my synesthesia was heightened to an extreme, whereas not only was I seeing the color I was seeing the life of this borderline masterpiece of indie-pop perfection. One of my favorite bands STEED LORD revealed via Facebook their tracklisting for their upcoming studio album “THE PROPHECY PT.1” spanning 11 tracks including the singles “Hear Me Now” and “Precognition” this album is sure to be one of the best of the year, they also released a webseries to accompany the album that goes behind the scenes as the band record and tour Continue reading
STEED LORD released their new video for “Hear Me Now” off their upcoming album “The Prophecy” the 80’s synth flavored record features lead singer Kali as an Elvira Hancock meets Bjork styled character and member Eddie House portraying what seems to be her handler or shadow. My interpretation might be a little off but this film, directed by Mega, reminds me of Mahogany meets Scarface with the styling designed by Bob Mackie, in other words a fierce clip executed by a superior band. My favorite band Steed Lord has dropped their new single “Hear Me Now” off their upcoming album “The Prophecy” a synth pop ballad with Kali’s sweet vocals leading the track, with pleading lyrics about saving a relationship. So far the album seems to be turning out completely opposite of their previous album Heart II Heart which was more dance heavy basses and synths while the tempo of this song and the previous two released off the album are very retro and slow paced. check out the tune below and the track will be available for purchase on July 31st via their bandcamp page.
My favorite DYI- indie band Steed Lord are back with the official video for their cover of De’Lacy’s classic house tune “Hideaway” from their upcoming album “Prophecy“. The video filmed by Cru Joness, features the Icelandic trio with lead vocalist Kali laced in her signature Golden Monarch cape, rehearsing and performing at the Dripped Fashion Event during LA Fashion Week this past March. After the Jump view the full video and for a free download head over to Facebook and “Like” Steed Lord. Continue reading
